The Seattle/Washington cards are very popular!  Here is one that is a Thank You card.  We can always use Thank You cards, right?

Sample of a Sports Holiday Greeting card.  I am out of Seattle Seahawks paper, so those cards will be available at the Vineyard Park Holiday Bazaar.  (You can always FB messenger me to buy as well.)

See? I'm trying really hard to get back into blogging.  Life gets in the way of blogging on a daily basis, so I thought I would at least try to do it on a weekly basis.

By now the Parrot Expo is over, and we are gearing up for my husband's surgeries.  Next week is his dental surgery (removing an impacted wisdom tooth). The back surgery will be after the November Vineyard Park Holiday Bazaar.

Earlier this month, I did some fun greeting cards for the Parrot Expo and Holiday Bazaar.  These are little trading cards that were left over from a larger project I was working on a couple of years ago.  This is a great way to use those leftovers:

This one is actually a postcard, so if the buyer really wanted, they could take it off and send it to someone.

Of course, I always try to do something in Peafowl!

Don't forget to come out to our two events -- Seattle Parrot Expo (this weekend) and Vineyard Park Holiday Bazaar (November) to get your handmade Chocolates!  We create a variety of creatures out of White, Milk, Dark, and Marbled Chocolate.

October 10, 2018

Hello everyone!  Yes, it has been over a year since I last posted.  I've been posting to Facebook as it is quicker.  Now that I am fully recovered from my back surgery of last October, I've been working the past few months getting caught up on things.  We have not done a craft show since the Seattle Parrot Expo last October due to the surgery recovery and my husband's health issues.

This coming weekend is the Seattle Parrot Expo, so be sure to come out and see us.  Make sure you buy your Chocolates for the holidays!

Seattle Parrot Expo
October 13-14
Sat 10-5, Sun 11-4
The Auburn Community and Events Center
910 – 9th Street SE
Auburn, WA 98001

On Saturday, November 17, we will be at Vineyard Park Holiday Bazaar.  Vineyard Park is a Senior Housing Apartment complex in downtown Mountlake Terrace.

These are the only two craft shows we are doing this holiday season due to my husband's back surgery.

Ok, a look at the greeting cards I've been making since I was able to sit comfortably at my craft table (and it looks like we will go in reverse order):

Christmas cards:

Hand-colored Owls

As some of you know, I am also a stamp collector.  With the new Dragon stamps coming out this past August, I created a set of Dragon covers to put the Dragon stamps on and have canceled with a special first day Dragon cancel. They look great, don't they?  I currently have a couple of sets left for sale ($10 for set of 4, $15 for complete set of 5).

A wedding card in July:

Thank you card back in May.

Recent greeting cards for Sports season:

I managed to get into my craft room back in April to try and make a few Mother's Day and other special cards. Was very uncomfortable sitting down and leaning forward at the craft table, so it took me several days just to make a few cards.  It is amazing how much one uses their back just sitting at a table doing crafts.

For my niece's high school graduation:
It only seems like yesterday I was tossing her around making her giggle!

I have a couple of Sports Christmas Cards created and will post those in a few days.

What have you been up to?

Happy Summer!  It has been a very busy spring for us -- my husband's illness and my hospital "spa" stay; thus, why we missed our spring craft show. We are both back on our feet and ready for our first summer show.

This coming weekend is the SeaTac PetCon at Puyallup Fairgrounds. They only gave us a month's advanced notice about the new dates and change of venue, so I'm glad we have the new weekend open. We hope you can make it to PetCon.  It should be fun!

SeaTac PetCon
Washington State Fair Events Center
Showplex building
Puyallup, Washington
June 24 - 25, 2017
10:00 am - 5:00 pm Saturday
11:00 am - 4:00 pm Sunday

Yes, you may bring your well-behaved Dog or Cat, on leash or in pet strollers please. There will be all kinds of activities for the pets, and many vendors will have free samples.  We will be giving out FREE Cat and Dog food samples to the first 100 people at the show each day.

For gift ideas, I created a load of new greeting cards. Here is a sample of those cards:

There are a lot of Parrot people at PetCon, so I created a variety of greeting cards just for them.

There is a good stock of Dog greeting cards for you to paw through....

...as well as Cats, Frogs, Lizards, and other critters.

(but this is my only Chicken greeting card!)

And for the ever-present Puget Sound Sports Fan:

My husband will have new etched glassware gift items available.

We will also have fresh Chocolates in Dog, Cats, Parrots, Chickens and other critters shapes for your taste buds' delight.

We look forward to seeing you at PetCon!

Oh my.....Has it been that long since we last posted? Guess we had a busier holiday season than we planned on.  But we did not get the snow that pretty much the rest of the US received -- I feel so deprived and neglected by Mother Nature.  As I write this, snow is falling today in eastern and southeastern Washington state; we have nippy weather with sunshine.

But we have not been laying around.  Here are some items we did since our last posting:

Commissioned hand-etched Elephant square vase.

Many of my fellow cardmakers know how difficult it is to sell their products -- not because they are poor quality or not of an appealing design, but simply for the fact that people do not send out greeting cards anymore.  We have customers who love to buy our greeting cards, but not enough for us to stay in business as we have been.  Show fees have increased. Cost of supplies have increased.  So what to do? It saddens us, but we must cut back drastically on our show schedule this year.  When we do a show, we will have one (1) table instead of our regular two (2) tables.  We are attempting to do different things with our crafts to entice customers.

One new product we started carrying in November last year were Memory Albums and Memory Greeting Cards (glorified photo albums - but oh so CUTE!).  They have been selling fast, so if you see one you like, if you do not buy, it will probably not be there at the next show.  I will get photos for our next posting.

We learned how to create tri-fold cards years ago, but typically do them for friends and family. Size is typically 6 X 6 inches. We made a couple for the holiday craft shows.  Our first one:

same panel as previous, but showing the snowman just out of his Pocket.

A Snowman tri-fold card, with 5 panels to decorate.

Our next tri-fold card:

Vintage Christmas tri-fold card with space to write a personal message.  Yes, our tri-fold greeting cards are a gift in themselves!

Now with the New Year here, it was time to get the January birthday cards done:

Completed for a friend in India.

For an aunt....

And an uncle.

For a friend to give his Lady for Valentine's Day. Yes, the center design is cross stitch by hand.

For another friend's birthday, whose last name is Peacock.  I decorated the envelope.  We used to do that years ago, but got away from it.  Time to bring it back.  Looks stunning, and it survived the mail in perfect condition!

What have you worked on lately?

Our first craft show will be in April.  Hope to see you there!
